That's funny Daniel and yes I am no match for the football heads on here but it's still a laugh putting my ten cents worth in and also I did grow up with it and can reminisce with the best about what happened to liverpool in 1977 . As far as verbal pollution goes I accept your point but only insofar that if there were a tax for that sort thing it would be called the Dantax .
Been listening to Bob Dylan's Theme Time Radio Hour...very good and Bob is a surprisingly witty host. His take on "Drinkin' Wine Spo Dee O Dee" by Sticks McGhee... "He substituted the words Spo Dee O Dee for a couple of words that now appear quite regularly but hardly showed up at all in the day...I'll give you a clue ...the first word is Mother" Go Bob!!
That's actually quite good Ian, though I don't think it's going to go down too well with some on here. I hate to ask, but what have you written about Liverpool supporters? I know you don't like fans for the Gunners, but your hatred of Liverpudlians is well known
They are striving to be like Dan the Man and I am glad to help all those who confess that they are a sausage short and need some confidence in moving forward.
Another nugget off the Christmas card list and one more I can add to my list of scroll past and don't bother. Thanks Stevie G, I too have learnt bucket loads over time reading every third sentence of your boring gargle to find if something worth reading but still searching.. Game, set, match, you shouldn't of turned up..... Adios
I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed mate but I have to say talking to you does make me feel much more intelligent. I thank you for that, your lack of braincells has finally given you some meaning in life - supporting those who need more self confidence.
831 to be exact. haha, Stevie make yourself a hot chocolate, put your feet up and watch your season defining game v Norwich again. Either that or watch last Friday nights A League 0-0 draw with Mariners and Victory, be almost as exciting as your coffee convo with Aunty Wesley.
Hahaha. When's the last time you heard me talk about Hillsborough? Seriously mate, when was it? I'm not denying I ranted on about it for a long time but that was some time back.
On the other side mate I sit here and read your weekly rants about how all sport is rigged and it's all bullsh*t but at the same time you love sharing your tips and stories on winnings. Leave it out mate, I know you're just trying to wind me up but find something with a bit more substance than something I said close to 2 years ago
Even Balso read all the soccer posts, changed them into his own words and pretended he knew what was going on in the football world.
Nothing to report on the Dogs, surprise surprise. The only news we have had is the cheerleaders will be swapping pom poms for clipboards and we have signed about 4 kids nobody has ever heard of. We might be strong in 2017 at this rate.
Mate that is breaking news in paradise. Something that happened to Liverpool in April 1989 is something we don't need to hear about every 8 hours. Enjoy Suarez for xmas, the kid will be wrapped in a box and sent to Barca shortly after and the pool will be out of water.
Of course he was. Carney is a case and a half, can't trust the bloke with drugs and influencing results. I met Lauren and her Mum together, at Cronulla Leagues when she and Carney first kicked it off, they were close as all hell then. Not good when family relationships break down like that and must be pretty serious if they are taking her to court.
Ian, it's a scary thing when you become the voice of reason mate. But, you're speaking absolute sense and I don't get why some people refuse to listen to you.
Like yourself, I've developed a huge admiration for what Arsenal have done so far. Attacking wise they've always been decent, though they've definitely taken it up a level. But defensively is where they've really impressed me because I was sure that's where they'd falter. Credit to them.
I really like your comments about 'playing to their absolute maximum' because it's so true. Sublime football, but do they have more? Man City are showing 75% max imo, if they get rolling they'll be unstoppable. Chelsea also are far from playing at their best and for opposing teams that's a daunting thought considering their squads.
Adding to this is the fact the EPL this year is the most difficult for a long long time, these lower teams at home will be really hard to beat. It's very easy for clu
Wes you soppy old sod the reason that soccer talk is dominating the page is because many of the contributors to this page follow the sport and there is precious little else going on. Politics tends to cause friction because the left are such woosies and the cricket is about as interesting as Nathan B's sex life. So unless we have a contest or two - how about Where's Wally (Dogsothoth) - you had better brush up on your soccer.
The simple answer is 'through the forwards' although that is problematical unless they improve substantially over last season. We will need all of our mobile back-rowers to score regularly and hope that our defence improves enough to stop the opposition scoring any more than two or three tries on average. We are certainly rarely going to blow teams away with the pace of our back-line and forget about long range tries.
At the lower levels you cannot compare clubs' form home and away. Hull roll over away from home quite often. They are always hard to beat at Hull. Sides in the bottom half of the table rarely win away from home except when playing each other.
Another enjoyable train journey has come to an end. Thank you Barry Thank you Mr combustible engine.
I just dont know how we are going to score enough points now that Barba is gone. Hodkinson isnt a creator and Ennis' game has changed. There will be a huge dependancy on Reynolds and our forwards to lay on tries. If Reynolds goes down it will be a tough year...Hopefully Des can get us defending like we were in 2012...
As a Chelsea supporter I look towards Man City and accept that we have a huge job ahead of us to finish ahead of them mainly because of the sheer class of Aguero. He has been a prolific goalscorer for years both in the UK and Spain, but this season he has added to his game, assisting almost as often as he scores. Only Suarez is as good but he has nowhere near as good players around him.
Arsenal are playing to their absolute maximum and I respect them for that. But having seen most of their games this season I do not believe they can improve. The Christmas period will really be a huge test for them but, then again, it will be for all the top clubs.
Finally check out the Arsenal fixtures in March if you want to see a real test. They will have to play the second leg of a Champions League knockout followed by Spurs away, Chelsea away and Man City at home. They follow this with a Champions League quarter final (assuming they have got through) and
One thing I do find rather fascinating on the train is ladies who put try to put make up on. With all the sliding vibrating and gyrating and bumping I'm surprised they can still get it right.
The driver just had a dig at everyone calling them "fresh faced and happy". Cattle look more happier on a cattle ship on their way to Indonesia.
The train driver is cracking jokes on the train and people around me are as miserable as ever. Can't even crack a smile. Labor should have thrown more money at these people and kept them home. We are a lucky and fortunate people and everyone's depressed.
Yeah, it was funny mate. Especially when talking about 'verbal polluters' and in the same sentence you feel the need to tell us all about Carney's Mrs assaulting her mother & sister Gold mate, keep it coming
Lauren Eagle, Todd Carney's Mrs charged with assaulting her Mother and Sister?? Haven't read the full report but know that she was close to both of them. Bit strange but predicted when she is dating a serial deakhead in Carney.
Liverpool were the worst I've seen all year mate, absolutely terrible. Don't think you can judge game because it was 'Liverpool'.
I have to agree with Ian when he talks about the table because you need to look at the teams have played and the form also. Look at the top 6 sides, the only one playing well is Arsenal who are honestly playing football out of this world. Then I'd say Everton are playing to their potential, possibly over actually. But Chelsea, Man City, Man U, Tottenham & Liverpool all have a lot of improvement and all of them apart from Liverpool have had relatively difficult draws to start with.
Credit to Arsenal who have really impressed but it's a third of the way through the season, there's a lot to play for. They're only 4 points ahead of Chelsea, 6 of Man City who have both been very inconsistent to start off with. Closest EPL I've seen in over a decade me thinks, calling a winner now is lunacy imo
True, they played well that day. However don't forget that it was only a few days ago that Hull demolished Liverpool who are sitting only 3 points behind Chelsea. Yesterday Hull were not even in the contest, it could easily have been 4 or 5 nil. I am not as confident as Serb Bulldog, but I think they are doing quite well.
